[Stronsaylimpet] Past, Present, Future Art Workshop on 09 July

The Past, Present, Future Art Workshop took place on 09 July, and was 
attended by Stronsay residents whose ages were wide-ranging! Imagine the 
kinds of memories that were conjured, from WWII international service 
and first television, to the futuristic reality of actually texting on a 
cell phone to Australia to complete a momentary “Secret Square” 
assignment efficiently. The Community Centre’s large LED screen provided 
a dynamic visual aspect to the lessons. Prehistoric cave art and modern 
quilting images suggested that “following the lines” has always been 
useful in realizing ideas. Most importantly, we considered that, in 
order to succeed, an artist must measure technically, visually and 
emotionally. Looking forward to our next workshop 06 August. It will be 
held in the same location, but we’ll be peering through a completely 
different creative window, suitably entitled Polished Pastels. No art 
skills necessary!
