Around 160 Orkney households applied for the £200 OIC cash award on day 
one of the application process.
The vast majority of those applications were made online – with most 
encountering no issues. A few folk did have problems when entering a 
bank account sort code – however, that was quickly resolved once staff 
were made aware.
Remember if you do have any issues or need support when applying, please 
give our Customer Services Teams a call - in Kirkwall on 873535 or 
Stromness on 850907 - or pop in by the receptions. They are ready to 
assist as we want to ensure that every household who is entitled to this 
cost of living grant receives it.
There will be working households out there who have never received 
benefits before who will be entitled to this award due to low incomes 
so, please take a look or enquire. We don’t want anyone missing out.
