From Kirsten Gobha on Stronsay's Facebook page:
Researchers at Aberdeen Uni are looking for people in rural and
island areas of Scotland to join a Public and Patient Involvement
and Engagement (PPIE) Group and help shape research into healthcare
provision for specific medical conditions. Group members will be
compensated for their time.
Specifically they are seeking people who:
● Live with or have experienced of one or more of the following
health issues: cancer; a long-term rheumatic and musculoskeletal
condition; over 65 years of age and been hospitalised twice in the
past two years (frailty).
AND
● Live in a Scottish rural area, including a small town, village, or
island community, and have first-hand experience of the associated
healthcare challenges.
Participation in the group will include roughly 3 online meetings
per year and the opportunity to feed into the project more widely by
using your experience to review documents and provide feedback on
action plans. Your feedback will help refine the research, improve
participant experiences, and shape the interpretation of results.
Check out the link for more information on the project and how to
get involved.
