pleased to let you know that Screen Machine will return to
Orkney in November. Our last visit came in March/April 2022,
but various operational issues forced us to postpone plans for
follow-up visits. Going into 2024, we were aware that Screen
Machine hadn't been to Orkney for some time, and we made it
our firm intention to visit you this year.

The tour will see us visit three islands between Saturday 9 and
Monday 18 November:

Westray, Sat 9 to Mon 11 Nov
Sanday, Wed 13 & Thu 14 Nov
Stronsay, Sat 16 to Mon 18 Nov

We would like to thank the members of each island's community
and Orkney Ferries for helping us arrange these visits. It's
important to us that our visits aligned with days that suited
each community as well as our schedule. As it may have been some
time since you last attended Screen Machine, you can
re-familiarise yourself by looking at our <a

We will confirm the programme in the next week or so, but one
film we will definitely bring is The Outrun.
Adapted from Amy Liptrot's memoir of the same name, it stars
Saoirse Ronan and, as you probably already know, was filmed on
location on Orkney. <a

As we're sure you're aware, we are currently fundraising for a
new mobile cinema so we can secure the long-term future of the
service. You can learn more and donate by following the link
below to our Crowdfunder page, but we wanted to let you know
that there is also the option to add £5 or £1 donations to your
tickets when booking online.

We would also like to express our gratitude for all your
messages of support over the past year. It means so much to us
knowing our service is valued so highly, and we're delighted to
be returning to you.
