A reminder that the Coronation weekend events on sunday at the
church are going ahead as previously outlined; service, lunch,
time capsule and tree! The school has organised some items for the
time capsule, and there is still time for your memento to be
included. look forward to seeing you and lots of others on the

Coronation weekend Sunday event for all, at Moncur Memorial
Church:
Come and share together with others on Sunday 7th May.
After our special church service for the Coronation from 11am to
about noon led by Mike Erdman, there will be a simple
bring-and-share lunch at the back of the church on Sunday 7th.
It is open to anyone on the island, and will be from about
12.15pm to 1.30pm - enter at the main church doors. At 1.30pm,
we aim to plant a tree and bury a milk churn time capsule to
mark the event. Everyone is welcome to bring a small item that
might be of interest to future generations to go in the capsule.
The meal is intended to be a simple Potluck lunch: if you are
able, bring a salad or sandwich type of lunch for yourself and
maybe a little to share that goes into a Potluck for everyone,
so people need not come with anything! Some refreshments, plates
and crockery will be provided. It is to provide an opportunity
to share together on an historic weekend and maybe have a small
toast for the Coronation. There will be a tree-planting and time
capsule for people to pop small items into the old Milk Churn -
until its full! It is organised by the church in partnership
with Stronsay Wellbeing Project. All are welcome to the church
service and/ or the lunch and events. More details later.
