[Stronsaylimpet] Energy in Orkney

This afternoon, during a parliamentary debate on Scotland's energy, I 
urged the Scottish Government to take community benefit seriously. It's 
unacceptable that in places like Orkney — which has long been a leader 
within the green energy sector — fuel poverty levels are amongst the 
highest anywhere.
Communities that host these vital projects need to feel more of the 
benefit, including strategic investment in things like housing as well 
as steps to reduce bills. This will require the Scottish Government to 
reform outdated guidance on community benefit and commit to ensure 
meaningful engagement with host communities at every stage of the 
development process.
