OIC Adult Learning Team Coming to Stronsay – 14th & 15th March

We’re delighted to share that the Orkney Islands Council Community 
Learning, Development and Employability Team will be visiting the island 
on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March to deliver a wide range of 
practical and engaging sessions.

✨ All sessions are FREE and open to everyone.

Here’s what could be on offer:

🧵 Family Sewing Taster Sessions

💻 Digital Drop-In
Bring your device along and speak to the team — they will do their very 
best to answer your questions and solve problems.

🔐 Online Security Presentation (2 hours)
Covering:
• Shopping deals – what to check and watch for
• Online security
• Scams and phishing
• Safe websites and VPNs
• Better searching and saving websites
• Paying safely for goods and services online

🌐 Get Online – Try Just One Thing
• Microsoft Word Introduction
• Microsoft Excel Introduction
• Numeracy Taster Session
• Internet & Email Basics (for those with some digital skills who want 
to build confidence)
• Expressive Writing Taster Session

🍽 Level 2 Food Hygiene

💼 Employability Session
CVs, applications and interview skills.

🧠 Ahead of the Game (1 hour for parents/carers)
Delivered in partnership with Movember — supporting parents to better 
understand and recognise the mental health and wellbeing needs of their 
teenagers.

📱 Think Before You Click (1 hour for parents/carers)
Helping parents better understand the social media platforms their 
children and young people are accessing.
