[Stronsaylimpet] Stronsay Field Walking Project 10/11/12 April

          *Stronsay Field Walking Project*

Archaeologist Ben Elliot and a small team of ORCA staff and UHI Students 
are coming to Stronsay tomorrow (Friday 10th) to continue the field 
walking surveys as carried out in past years. This is a great 
opportunity for local folk to get involved in this project and learn 
more of our archaeological heritage.
If you would like to take part (for as long or as short as you can 
manage) then Ben asks that*all volunteers meet at the SDT poly tunnel at 
1400 on Friday 10th April,*so that we can have a quick briefing, before 
we head out in the SDT bus to the site itself (whichever that ends up 
being). We'll be working until about 1730, at which point the bus will 
drop folk back to the polytunnel.
*On Saturday 11th we will meet again at the SDT poly tunnel at 1000 to 
head out to site, and return again at 1730.*
*On Sunday 12th we will meet at the SDT poly tunnel at 1000, and return 
at 1630 (to give us time to get to the ferry in time).*
For those of you intending to join us in field walking, you will need to 
bring sturdy outdoor footwear, warm and waterproof clothing, drinking 
water, a hot drink and a packed lunch. We will be out in the elements 
all day, and those elements can be spicy, so please prepare accordingly. 
That said, if the weather does become deeply unpleasant, then we will 
head back to the poly tunnel to do some group finds processing.
