Think Green Thursday..🚍💚 Coming Soon – Stronsay’s Electric Community
Bus! ⚡
We’re thrilled to announce that our new Electric Community Transport
Service will officially launch on Tuesday 4th November! 🌍✨
Based on your feedback around 🛒 shop delivery days, ⛴️ ferry times, and
blood clinic days, the service will start with:
🕗 Tuesdays and Thursdays – 8am to 12 noon
✅ Including return ferry connections – we’ll meet the evening ferry and
take you back home on those days! 🏡
Whether you’re heading to the shops, post office, meeting friends for
brunch, collecting your prescriptions, or catching the ferry, our new
electric bus can get you there comfortably and sustainably. 🌿🚐
💷 Low-Cost Travel for Everyone:
We’re proposing a great value fare of £1 per one-way journey (50p for
all concessions) 💚
💻 Booking Made Easy:
You can book through our online app/website, or call the Stronsay
Development Trust office for friendly telephone support. 📞💬
🍰☕ Tea, Cake & Tech Workshops!
We’ll collect you for a cuppa and some hands-on help to get your
personal booking account set up — come along, enjoy some cake, and get
connected! 💻🧁
💚 A big thank you to our volunteer Board Members for steering the
recruitment process for our new community bus service. After interviews,
we’re pleased to share that…
👨‍🦰 Neil McLay will be behind the wheel 🚐 — and when he’s not
driving, he’ll pop his Recycling Officer hat back on! ♻️
We’re also delighted to welcome Kate Milligan as our relief driver —
you’ll meet her properly in next week’s Meet the Team feature! 👋
🌱 This is just the beginning — with your support, we hope to expand to
extra days and even off-island trips in future. 🏝️
💬 We’ll be in touch again soon with more details — this is just a
little sneak peek of what’s coming! 💚⚡
