Amber weather warning in force
Storm Amy will bring damaging winds from 5:00pm Friday 3 October until 
9:00am Saturday 4 October. Wind gusts of 60-70 mph are likely and may 
exceed 95 mph in more exposed areas.
Public bus services will be suspended and will not operate for the 
duration of the amber warning.
For internal ferry updates, please checkOrkney Ferries 
<https://www.facebook.com/OrkneyFerriesLtd?__tn__=-]K*F>. There is a 
high probability of cancellations on external ferry services - check 
with your operator for the latest details.
Expect significant impacts including power cuts, transport disruption, 
hazardous driving conditions, structural damage including fallen trees, 
localised flooding and coastal overtopping in vulnerable areas.
Please secure loose items outside your home, including bins, garden 
furniture and trampolines.
