Earlier this year, the Scottish Government did away with 'peak' rail
fares on train journeys in Scotland in an effort to make public
transport more affordable for passengers. I believe it's time to extend
the same logic to public-funded ferry services, which provide a lifeline
service for island communities.
I've asked Ministers this week to share their assessment of such a
proposal which, at its core, is a matter of equity for islanders. You
