🚨 Nematodirus Warning for Orkney Farmers 🚨
Heads up to all sheep farmers across Orkney — conditions are now ideal 
for a Nematodirus outbreak. With the recent rise in temperatures 
following a cool spell, hatching is likely to occur rapidly, putting 
lambs aged 6–12 weeks at high risk of infection.
🔍 What to watch for:
Sudden onset of scouring (diarrhoea)
Lethargy or poor appetite
Unexpected deaths in young lambs
🐛 Speak to us about faecal egg counts and treatment options. Early 
intervention is key — many cases are fatal if left untreated.
🧐 Be extra vigilant before clinical signs appear, especially if your 
flock has a history of nematodirosis.
📍 Orkney conditions are matching high-risk patterns reported elsewhere 
in Scotland, so stay alert.
