SEPA CONSULTATION
*_
_*SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency) has opened a
consultation on Proposed Changes to the Environmental Regulation
(Scotland) Guidance and Public Participation and Fit and Proper Person Test.

The proposals will change how SEPA authorise and regulate waste
management, water and industrial activities.

Proposed changes:
Public participation – adding a requirement to SEPA’s Public
Participation Statement that for some authorisations, prospective
applicants will need to engage in public consultation at the
pre-application stage
Who can hold an authorisation – updating SEPA’s approach to how they
determine if an applicant is a fit and proper person and can hold a
registration or permit (the ‘Fit and Proper Person’ test.

SEPA would really like to hear your views and would welcome responses to
their consultation. Feedback helps them to understand what matters most
to people and how they can design and deliver their services for the
future of the environment.
