Our Crowdfunder has so far raised over £30,000 plus an estimated £5,000
additionally in Gift Aid. This has inspired donations from elsewhere,
including £2,500 from local trusts and community councils, £1,550 from
donors direct to us, £1,550 using Charities Aid Foundation, and £1,543
from audiences adding a tip to their ticket purchases. That means we
have raised *£42,143* since we launched the campaign at the start of
September, and it will all go towards the costs of building a new Screen
Machine.
We're continuing to receive donations each day, which means our total is
continually growing. But there is still more that we need to do. Our
office-based team is applying for grants, some with the help of our
ushers, that will hopefully allow us to unlock funds to place a deposit
and start the build.
Earlier this week we switched our Crowdfunder to 'always on'. This means
we can accept donations without a set deadline while we work towards
raising the approximate £1.7million for a new Screen Machine. We have
553 donors so far, which is the equivalent to 6% of our subscribers. So
if you haven't but are able to donate then please consider adding a
contribution. Every penny is crucial in us securing the long-term future
of the Screen Machine service.
We are also able to accept donations via Charities Aid Foundation

if you would prefer that method.
If you have already donated, you can continue to help by sharing our
cause with friends, family, anyone! If you have an idea for a
fundraising event, or any questions about our campaign, then please
email *fundraising at regionalscreenscotland.org*.
Again, from the whole team at Regional Screen Scotland, thank you for
your support. Together we will Save Our Screen Machine!

*Gairloch Portrait Fundraiser*
*Our usher Viveca is raising funds for SOS with her drawings*
Last month we shared the hard work of our very talented Gairloch usher
Viveca Port, who has been selling portraits at £40 each, and donating
all the proceeds to the Save Our Screen Machine campaign.
Above is one of her wonderful drawings that she's been kind enough to
share with us, and we just had to share it with everyone else. Some
people have been generous enough to pay more than the £40.
Viveca's plan is to sell 25 portraits, and we understand she is close to
reaching her target. Thank you Viveca for all your hard work supporting
Screen Machine! We're sure you'll get a well-deserved rest when you
cross the finish line!
If you have your own fundraising idea for our campaign then we'd love to
hear it. Please email us at *fundraising at regionalscreenscotland.org*.

in Newtonmore and then head north. We will publish more details on the
website in the coming days, so keep an eye on the schedule on our

*Upcoming Films*
*Return to the Land of Oz on Screen Machine*
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in /Wicked/. Copyright: Universal
Our current programme features some of the biggest releases of the year,
including the immensely popular Paddington in Peru and Gladiator II.
One film we're very excited to add to our programme is */Wicked/*
<https://screenmachine.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=481366d61828cfc0003c856c2&id=29ec64982b&e=5e77b5da1b>,
the film adaptation of the musical that has blown away Broadway and the
West End for the past 20 years. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande star as
Elphaba and Galinda, two aspiring sorcerers at Shiz University who are
forced to room together. Polar opposites in so many ways, the two
eventually form a friendship, but it is a meeting with the Wonderful
Wizard of Oz himself that threatens to push them apart, and sets Elphaba
down the path to becoming the Wicked Witch of the West.
Covering the first half of the story, /*Wicked*/ remains faithful to its
source material while taking a deeper look into its characters, asking
if one is born wicked, or has it thrust upon them.
/*“the all-singing, all-dancing meat-and-potatoes of the musical, Wicked
absolutely delivers”*/ indieWire
*/“it’s pure spectacle – its emotional resonance powered almost entirely
by the lungs of lead Cynthia Erivo”/* The Independent
*/“a visually ravishing, emotionally freighted vehicle”/* Evening Standard
