With tomorrow being Remembrance Sunday I have been asked by the Royal 
Marines to attend in an official capacity. It would be nice to see a 
strong turn out not only to remember the fallen from all sides of 
conflict, but also remember those who have come back broken, either 
physically or mentally and honour the sacrifices they have made.
I feel the moment should also be used to celebrate all those who move 
towards danger to help protect others and our way of life, be it police, 
firefighters, medical staff, coastguard etc etc.
To that end after the service and gathering at the community hall I will 
be going to the Stronsay hotel and would like it if other veterans and 
non veterans would join me where we can bore each other to tears with 
dits and stories of days gone by. Perhaps we could also raise a few quid 
for the Legion who do great work supporting our veterans. A community 
bus will be available for anyone who needs it.
