Morning all.
Key points to note -
����Weather conditions are set to improve today — and temperatures will 
rise - but road conditions will be very difficult for some time. Our 
advice remains to stay off the roads in the meantime.
����Our road crews - after a hard day yesterday - were back out at 
6:00am. Their focus will be on clearing priority 1 and priority 2 roads
����Schools, nurseries and Orkney College are closed, as are libraries, 
community centres, sports centres and museums.
����Council offices in Kirkwall and Stromness are closed but staff are 
working from home.
����There are no waste or recycling collections today - and civic 
amenity sites are also closed whilst we focus on clearing the roads and 
footpaths.
����Stagecoach services are suspended with a review at 12:00
����And finally, a huge shout out to all the key workers who battled 
through the elements yesterday to keep things moving as long as they did 
and kept the most vulnerable members of our community safe. Thanks to 
all those volunteers helping out on the roads and to all those offering 
shelter last night - an incredible response! Orkney really is amazing
