Across the social care sector – whether that be the public or third 
sector - we are facing unprecedented challenges in recruiting to our 
health and social care workforce - and with this has come a significant 
increase in agency staff costs.
With our budgets reducing - and demand on our service increasing - the 
time has come to examine the issues we are facing in more detail – with 
a particular focus on how we might recruit more people in Orkney into 
the social care workforce.
We've launched an online survey to help us find out more about local 
perceptions and opinions on working in social care.
The survey runs until April 30.
