Chair of the Independent Ferries Community Board, Angus Campbell, will
be in Orkney on Wednesday 3 May to listen to people’s views on the
Scottish Government’s Project Neptune and the future of local ferry
services.
As well as meeting with local Councillors, external transport forum
stakeholders, and Stromness Community Council, there will be a couple of
drop-in sessions for residents:
• St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall from 4pm-5pm
• Stromness Community Centre, Church Road, Stromness from 7pm-8pm.
Project Neptune is a piece of consultancy commissioned by the Scottish
Government to consider the best arrangements for future provision of
ferry services.
Following on from the publication of the Project Neptune report the
Transport Minister committed to a full consultation process with
communities to discuss the report’s findings and seek views on the
structures needed in delivering future ferry services.
