re. history of SS Athenia life-boat, now at Seafield, Stronsay.
Can anyone help in establishing the identity of a Stronsay resident who 
actually lived in the SS Athenia converted lifeboat on the foreshore at 
Seafield, during the years 1960-1980 (very approximate) together with 
his sheep!? This information came from Mr Thomas Shearer, who lived at 
Seafield for many years from about 1983 - 2002, and who now lives in 
Kirkwall. He cannot remember this other man's name, and whilst it does 
not effect the wartime history of the lifeboat, it adds an interesting 
dimension to its post-war history. Any information would be gratefully 
appreciated, thank you.
