Screen Machine needs your support more than ever.

This September, the Screen Machine service will mark its 25th
anniversary. Whilst this is a cause for celebration, there is reason for
concern.

After 17 years of near continual service, we retired the cinema that
many of you will know and love as it is no longer fit to manage a full
tour. Its unreliability led to a sharp increase of cancelled screenings
and poor service to many of our communities. At short notice, Screen
Scotland stepped in with the funds to allow us to lease the cinema we
are currently using: Cinemobile. But this lease lasts only until April
2024. Beyond that, without intervention, the Screen Machine service will
be wound down.

We urgently require significant investment to enable us to commission
the construction of a brand new greener Screen Machine.

A new Screen Machine will cost approx *£1.4 million* and need between
one year and eighteen months to build. We need the Scottish Government
to provide *50% of the cost*. That will enable us to pay a deposit and
begin the construction process. We will then embark on a massive
fundraising effort to bring in the balance.

Please help us to ensure we can continue to bring your cinema to your
community for many more years.

Ways to help:

 1. Write to your MSP, MP, or councillor, and to the First Minister,
Cabinet Secretaries and Council Leader. For guidance on how to do
    this, click here
    <https://screenmachine.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=481366d61828cfc0003c856c2&id=de6efdd766&e=5e77b5da1b>.
 2. Come along – buy a ticket, bring a friend, try more than one film.
Whilst we sometimes sell out, there is usually spare capacity. At
£7.50 adult/£5.50 concessions, we believe we give very good value
for money, and we’ll always be very happy to see you.
 3. Add a donation to your ticket price – when you buy an Adult or a 60
and Over ticket, there is now the option to add an additional £1
donation. We will use this extra income solely to keep the Screen
Machine service on the road and to plan for the future.

At the moment, our primary objective is securing 50% of the cost from
the Scottish Government, so the best thing you can do is contact your
MSP or councillor. Donations will be better served once this is in place
and we have started our fundraising campaign.

We understand this may come as a shock to some of you, but we believe
that with the voices of our communities behind us, we will be able to
sway the Scottish Government and progress with construction.

Thank you for all your support so far, and please click the link above
to find out who you should address your letter to.

The Screen Machine Team

*Add a donation to your ticket*
*Adult and 60 and over tickets can include a £1 donation*

We have also added the option for you to add a £1 donation to your adult
or 60 and over tickets when booking online. These donations will go to
the rising ongoing costs of operating Screen Machine, such as fuel,
ferry journeys, and accommodation for our operators. Every extra £1 will
help us to keep bringing the Screen Machine service to you, your family
and friends, and to your community.

Thank you to everyone who has added a donation to their tickets so far.
Don't worry if you haven't or are unable to spare it - we're still happy
to welcome you along to Screen Machine!

*Screen Machine's 25th Anniversary*
*It's been quite a journey since 1998*

This September marks 25 years since our senior operator Iain MacColl
screened The Little Mermaid for Screen Machine's first audience in
Invergordon. We have come a long way since then, racking up thousands of
miles to bring the magic of cinema to countless communities across
Scotland, going through two cinemas.

As mentioned above, this moment of celebration is also a time of great
uncertainty. Please write to your representatives so we can secure the
funds to start the build on a new Screen Machine. That way we can ensure
cinema will continue to roll into your communities for many more years.

*Locations on sale*
*And there will be more soon*

This mockumentary follows the history and antics of English metal band
Spinal Tap upon the release of their latest album. Egos clash as they
deal with enforced artwork changes, miniature stage props, and the
continuously unexplained spontaneous combustion of their drummers.

Probably one of the few films that needs no introduction. Sing along to
its legendary soundtrack with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as

This classic comedy is crammed full of almost every kind of joke, from
