The Council has launched a public consultation on a proposed new 
variable 20mph speed limit at Orkney’s island schools.
This would bring Eday, Flotta, North Ronaldsay, North Walls, Papa 
Westray, Rousay, Sanday, Shapinsay, Stronsay and Westray into line with 
Mainland schools which already have these in place.
All relevant documents can be viewed at the Customer Services buildings 
in Kirkwall and Warehouse Buildings in Stromness during opening hours

Any objections to the proposals should be sent in writing to the

developmentandinfrastructure at orkney.gov.uk by 5pm on Friday 26 May 2023.
